Ottermere is a small close knit community located on the Canadian National Railway main line in Northwestern Ontario, Canada. The majority of people are Campers but there are some retired people who live full time at the lake or spend most of the year there. Many families are able to trace their roots at the Lake back to the 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's.

The remoteness of the area requires a special sort of person to appreciate the beauty of the Lake. Ottermere is only accessible by boat or train.

The boat trip is actually make up of two boat rides and a portage in between the boat rides after you have travelled down a winding, hilly gravel road. In the winter many people travel to the lake by snowmobile, making winter the perfect time to do all your hauling.
